Every commission begins long before the first stem is cut. It begins with a conversation, with light falling at an angle across a wall, with a texture held in the hand and not forgotten. The Journal is where we record that unseen side of the work.

We will not write often; we will write when there is something worth saying. As in our arrangements, we prefer restraint to noise.
